The Bassist Who Kept It Rolling
Born October 24, 1936, in London, England, Bill Wyman was the steady, grooving bassist of The Rolling Stones for over 30 years. His understated, yet essential bass lines helped define the band’s rhythm.
From the funky “Miss You” to the deep groove of “Jumpin’ Jack Flash”, Wyman’s bass was the glue holding it all together. He was also an inventor, creating one of the first fretless bass guitars!
💡 Fun Fact: Bill was the only Stone who could read and write music—but he still preferred playing by ear!
👉 Celebrate Bill by playing “Gimme Shelter” and appreciating the bass that made it unforgettable.
